Combating ISIS With Drones

The United States, Russia and other countries all want more modern aircraft. However, Ukraine doesn't have the same resources as the United States to train its soldiers to fly these aircraft. The Ukrainians may have been trained in Western countries on vehicles and aircraft but they do not have the same training for drones. The Ukrainians are used a lot to trucks and older equipment, so drones are much easier for them to use. In addition, drones do not require "pilots," making them easy for soldiers to use. Drones feature a user-friendly interface similar to that found in videogames.

Aerorozvidka

To combat ISIS in Eastern Ukraine, the Ukrainian military has a unique strategy: octocopters with thermal cameras are used for nighttime missions. Some drones come with anti-tank weapons. They can also light up columns. These drones are highly maneuverable and can carry as much as 11 lbs of payload. Because they are small, drones can be flown low and over targets to drop munitions.

Aerorozvidka began as an IT enthusiast group. It has since evolved into a military air reconnaissance unit. Although the organization started as a civil drone company, it grew into a fully-fledged unit with its head. Because of export control, the Ukrainian government prevented Russian military planes from entering the country. Aerorozvidka relies upon crowdfunding and donations to maintain its existence since many of its components are manufactured in the US.

Switchblade

The U.S. military supplied Ukraine with the armed "Switchblade", drones that are capable of hitting Russian tanks hundreds of miles away. The US Air Force developed these unmanned aerial vehicles in response to Ukrainian needs. John Kirby from the Pentagon stated that over 121 of these machines were being sent to Ukraine. It is unclear how the Switchblades will work in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.

The Switchblade, a small drone, can be easily launched from a tube. It also has a range up to 40 kilometers. The Switchblade, unlike Bayraktar drones can strike a Russian convoy up to 6 miles away. These small aircraft can easily be assembled in minutes for a conflict such as Ukraine. The Switchblade can fly much faster than the Bayraktar (current U.S. ally).

Russian kamikaze drones

The US announced recently that they would be providing $800 million of military aid to Ukraine. Unmanned aircraft known as "Phoenix Ghosts" will be delivered to Ukraine. They are meant to terrorize Russian forces. These aircraft, which are designed to fly over areas for thirty to forty minutes, are equipped with warheads and cameras. The Switchblade is a hovering munition weighing 5.5 pounds that can destroy tanks and armored vehicles.

These small, light aircrafts come equipped with a powerful, low flight gimbal which allows them to operate from either air, ground, or water. Any advantage an opponent has over their counterpart in an aerial battle like this is vital. Russian kamikaze aircrafts pose a threat to that advantage. This capability is likely to be a key weapon for Ukraine's military as it can break Russian sieges and attack command and control nodes. Although such capabilities could be a liability for both sides it could make a significant difference in the battlefield and help Ukraine emerge victorious.

U.S. drones loitering

Russia has begun integrating its ZALA KYB loitering munitions into the military arsenal of the country. These drones are able to use lethal loitering munitions in the manner of bazookas. These autonomous killing devices could spread to black markets through the use of loitering robots. But observers and pundits are worried about this. So what can America do to stop this happening?

According to Kirby, the U.S. government has dispatched more than 121 Switchblade loitering drones to Ukraine to help Kiev fight Russian forces. The Switchblade drone can hover in a given area for between 30 and 40 minutes. It weighs in at 5.5 pounds. It has a camera and small warhead. It's intended mission is to attack the opposition forces in Ukraine.

How To

How do you clean your drone?

These are some of the things you need to know before cleaning your drone. This guide will teach you how to extract every bit from your drone.

  1. You need the right tools. You should have everything you need to start any project. You will need a soft brush or a toothbrush and a cleaning agent (we recommendWD40).
  2. Disconnect the battery pack. First, take out the battery. It is easy to locate the battery under your propeller. Just take care not to lose any screws during removal.
  3. Remove all pieces. Next, take out all the parts on the drone's bottom. You should make sure that they are not loose as they could fall off during cleaning.
  4. Use a cleaning agent. Now, clean your drone. We recommend cleaning your drone with WD40. Use the cleaner to spray your drone's entire surface. Be sure to get in between all components. Leave it to dry completely before putting everything back together.
  5. Replace the battery. Once you have cleaned the drone, make sure to put it back in its place. So you can check the performance of your drone after cleaning it.
