FAQ

Can I fly my drone indoors?

You can fly your drone indoors. You just have to ensure no obstacles or hazards inside your home. Avoid flying near windows, doors and heating vents.

What is the main difference between a quadcopter or a helicopter?

A quadcopter, a four-rotor helicopter, flies just like a helicopter. It has four rotors which rotate independently. The quadcopter's quadcopter counterpart, the hexacopter, has six instead of four. Hexacopters offer more maneuverability and stability than quadcopters.

Do I need special training to fly a drone?

You don't require any special training to fly your drone. You only need a remote controller unit and basic knowledge about flight mechanics.

How To

How to Fly Drones with Beginners

A drone can be used to fly remotely controlled aircraft for photography, surveillance, scientific research, hobby and commercial purposes. Drone technology has been around since World War II. DJI introduced their Phantom series of quadcopters in 2010, but commercial use only began in 2010. From beginner-friendly drones such as Parrot AR Drone 2.0 through professional-grade multirotor craft like DJI Mavic Pro, many types have been available.

There are several ways to fly a drone, including;

  1. Remote control – This is when you attach a device to your hand that allows you to control the drone's flight path. There are two main types: Joysticks (like a radio), and On/Off switches (like an alarm clock).
  2. Manual Control – This method lets users remotely control the drone by using a smartphone app. The app will give you instructions.
  3. Autonomous Flight: This means that the drone will take care of all the piloting. It basically flies autonomously without any human intervention. The drone must be equipped with a camera and sensors that can capture images and data in order to fly autonomously.
  4. Triggered Flight: This is similar in concept to manual control. The pilot manually creates a route and the drone then follows it until it reaches that endpoint. Once the programmed route has been completed, the drone returns to the base automatically.
  5. Landing Gear - Some drones come equipped with landing gear that allows them to land safely if they lose power or run out of battery during flight.
  6. Goggles: Some pilots use goggles in order to protect themselves against debris when operating.
  7. Camera - You can capture photos and videos with your drone from the air.
  8. Obstacles. Some drones can have obstacle avoidance technology that stops them from hitting obstacles.
  9. Speed - Some drones reach speeds exceeding 40 mph.
  10. Battery Life - Most drones last between 20 and 3 hours depending on how much power they have.
  11. Range - Some drones can travel upto 30 miles depending on their models.
  12. Power source – Some drones require external power sources, others require internal batteries.
  13. Weight – Some drones are less than one pound, while other models can be up to four pounds.
  14. Size - Drones can range in size from tiny devices that can fit in your palm to heavy crafts that weigh 50 pounds.
  15. Price – All drones fall into a price category. These range from expensive models that cost thousands to affordable options that start at 100 dollars.
